I was not sure how stormy Christmas day will be because I remember the same scenario last year when typhoon Nona was in the country on 15 Dec. 2015. I said this because on 24 Dec. 2016, approximately 4 hours prior Christmas Day the gustiness of typhoon Nina can be felt here at geannhomegarden.

Providentially we completed the 9th simbang gabi mass and welcome Christmas day gladly, the birth of Jesus Christ. (Luke 2:14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men”).

My wife and I were truly filled with the pleasure we’ve experienced on Christmas day – eating/drinking simple & fresh delicious meals/fruit shakes (Mga Pagkain sa Linang ni Maryann), bonding time spent intimately together while watching movies, playing board games, nature watch in prayers, and picture taking. This Christmas is a “day of grace” for us. Thank You dear God. (Psalm 107:1 “Oh give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy endureth forever”).

From morning till early afternoon, there was not a single human that appeared in the farm gate for social doings because of the heavy rain & occasional gustiness. I had the opportunity to watch and feel geannhomegarden’s nature in silence during that period. And I have to admit on instance while I watch nature I felt that God is with me.

Around 9:00 o’clock this morning my caring wife and I wake up sluggishly. DOST announce that typhoon Nina has made its 3rd landfall in Quezon, at 2:00am this morning 26 Dec. 2016, and moving away towards Batangas. The rain has stopped, and only the huge nimbus clouds remains in the sky. I quickly change to working clothes for a short stroll in the farm. As I walk around, I saw the effects of typhoon Nina’s intense rain and gustiness.

Once more, I felt stepping back into the real world after having a brilliant “day of grace”. But deep in me I will always take into the real world God’s grace of Christmas. (Luke 2:17 “And when they had seen it they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child”).
